Ostindia plate 27 cm

The year was 1930 when Emmy Almström spotted a shard of an East Indian plate in a glass cabinet in her husbands office. The shard turned out to be from the shipment which had been brought from the East India ship Götheborg, which sank in 1745. She took the shard and put it on his table with the accompanying note: "Knut. I think You should do something with this...".
In 1932, after a name competition, declared when celebrating the founding of the East India company, the Ostindia dinnerware was introduced.
Still today it is one of Rörstrand's best sellers and was named the dinnerware of the century a few years ago.

You can find the Ostindia series in many Swedish homes and it has, despite shifting trends, continued to be very popylar. The high quality porcelain can be washed in the dishwasher and is durable, which in combination with the beautiful pattern makes it quite likely to stay popular for generations to come! The plate has a diameter of 27 cm and is perfect for main courses.
