The pancake pan is a part of the stylish and high quality Mineral B-series from de Buyer in carbon steel, pans that get better the more you use them. This pan has long edges, which makes it perfect for pancakes, omeletes or why not hash browns.
Works on all stovetops
Mineral B is de Buyer's top model made in an extra thick layer of tin, this enables even heat distribution and that it can be used on all stovetops, including induction. The pan is treated with organic bees wax and has an extra strong handle of hardened steel.
Prepare the pan
Before using the pan for the first time you should "pre-fry" it. This is done by first cleaning the pan with hot water, pour in about 1 mm cooking oil in the pan and heat it until the oil begins to sizzle, the bottom should get a light brown colour. Pour out the oil and wipe the pan down with paper towels. It is now ready to be used. If you have cooked sour ingredients, such as lemon or white wine, it can result in lighter patches on the pan's frying surface. These patches can easily be removed by doing another "pre-frying" and does not lessen the pans quality.
Adds healthy iron to your food
To clean the pan it should be washed with hot water and without washing-up liquid. All pans from de Buyer are free of toxins and release small amounts of iron to the food, which is incredibly healthy.
This is the consumer version from de Buyer and what separates it from Carbone Plus is that is has a lacquered handle, which simplifies cleaning. This frying pan has a rust protection in the form of a sprayed on coating of bees wax that provides a non-stick function.
