"Baking steel 37 cm" is 0.6 cm thick, which is quite enough for a fantastic result, whether you bake pizza or make smash burgers. Baking Steel Premium is Nordwik's heaviest model, which with a thickness of a full centimeter of solid Swedish steel absorbs large amounts of heat. If you need to bake 5-10 pizzas or bread in a row and want the same great results throughout the baking process, this is the product for you. Be sure to heat the steel for about an hour according to the instructions to ensure that the steel is fully charged with heat and then notice how pizza after pizza comes out of the oven with fine leopard spots on the first bottom as well as on the tenth.

Transforms the stove into a stone oven
To make pizza or bread with perfect consistency, pizzerias and bakeries have, for centuries, used stone ovens for baking. With this baking steel from Nordwik, you now have the opportunity to explore the same type of baking at home in your kitchen, with a completely ordinary oven!
The principle is as simple as it is genius: place the steel on a grid high up in the oven, about 5 cm from the grill element. Turn on the highest temperature on the grill mode and leave on for an hour. The solid baking steel absorbs the heat from the grill element and heats up to extreme temperatures. Place your pizza using a pizza spatula from Nordwik on the steel and close the oven door. Just like in a stone oven, it now goes very fast! Follow the process through the oven window and be prepared to take out a steaming hot pizza with a crispy and golden brown bottom after just a few minutes!
With Nordwik's baking steel, you can now finally bake pizza as well as in a restaurant! With about 16 times better thermal conductivity than a pizza stone, you get perfect results, and with the built-up heat in the steel, you can bake several pizzas on the rack where the first one tastes as good as the last!
Baking steel as a frying table
Ordinary pizza stones are fragile and can break with rapid temperature changes and harsh treatments. Nordwik's northern and massive baking steel is something completely different. Put it on the grill and get a fantastic frying table! Perfect for seafood, vegetables, and burgers! The steel can also be placed directly on the stove, and it works with induction. It can also be used directly over an open fire.
Materials and Finish
For Nordwik's baking steel, hot-rolled steel of an ore mine in Norrland, Sweden is used. During the final treatment, the steel is given a polished surface, which is made and checked by hand. The surface is finally treated with rapeseed oil, and then the product is packaged. The steel thus has no surface layer that can break or be worn down.
With the right care, the steel can be used for generations. The most important thing is that the steel has to be kept dry and clean during storage to avoid the formation of rust. Otherwise, the steel can withstand most things! If the steel has been used in the oven, you should let it cool down for at least one hour for easier handling and then wash and dry it. If it has been used as a frying table outdoors, you can wash it when it is still hot to easily remove frying residue. Steel wool and grill cleaning tools can be used and do not damage the steel. Always remember to dry the steel afterward, and store it in a dry place.
Please note that, in the beginning, the product has a steel color as in the product image. For each use, your baking steel will take on a darker and darker tone to get a new elegant surface color after a while.
